The Annual European Graduate Conference on Political Parties (AEGCPP = pronounced 'eggcup') is a conference group designed to bring together graduate students who are looking at and researching political parties across Europe and beyond. The inaugural conference was hosted by the Institute of Local Government Studies (INLOGOV) at the University of Birmingham, England, and was convened by a graduate student within the department. The initial conference was kindly sponsored by two PSA specialist groups; EPOP and Local Politics. The Second AEGCPP conference moves across the Channel in order to facilitate a wide number of graduate students to attend. It will take place at Sciences-Po, in Paris, and will be funded conjointly by the Centres d'Etudes Européennes, the Association Française de Science Politique (Standing Group on Party Politics) and the Political Studies Association (standing group on Elections, Public Opinion and Parties). For any enquiries regarding the conference, organisation and research group, please contact the academic convenor for AEGCPP 2010, Simon Persico, simon.persico@sciences-po.org, or the founder, Mark Ewbank, MXE760@bham.ac.uk The Short History of AEGCPP AEGCPP 2009: University of Birmingham (United Kingdom) - Institute of Local Government Studies AEGCPP 2010: Sciences-Po Paris (France - Centre d'Etudes Européennes AEGCPP 2011: ?? |
